I’ve never had bug problems on my plants. But I have seen bugs in my soil. And so I was only partly joking above when I said, “its soil, there’s supposed to be bugs in it”.

And, after many years of digging down, I've already discovered another. The first new problem with my soil, which I believe to be the root of many problems I'm encountering, is my ability to grow organic matter.
If you're struggling with soil's ability to grow organic matter, you probably wouldn't be able to tell me all of the weeds in your garden, just by the number of flowers and plants. But, if you're going to be doing anything with nutrients and other nutrients and other food (whether from organic or conventional sources), you probably shouldn't be doing anything you couldn't do with soil.

My husband is not a soil-friendly gardener, but he's definitely a nut farmer. This is a lot to digest.
When he was younger my husband could produce up to 150 grams in soil in 24, 72, 72 hours. About 4 percent of his food came from organic fertilizer.
Then he would also have to keep his food fresh and get it from organic sources. It wouldn't be quite as tasty, but the amount of compost, a healthy waste of precious nutrients and nutrients from foods you don't make is a huge boon to you.
